- Children:
5 sons & 3 daughters. Include Abdullah, Abdurahman, Ibrahim, Abdulaziz and Abduraheem.
- Grandchildren: 46 in total.
Sheikh Ibn Utheimin's Islamic Learning Pathway to Greatness:
- Memorised Qur'an at age 14 or just before.
- Began studying in earnest with the great Scholar Sh. Abdurahman Saadi, first via his students & then with the Sh. Saadi himself
- By 1370H (aged ~22-23): Began himself teaching Islamic sciences while still studying with Sh Saadi
- 1372H to 1373H: Studied Islamic knowledge at the newly formed Higher Institute (المعهد العالي) in Riyad
- While in Riyad, studied much personally with the other great Scholar Shekh Abdulaziz ibn Baz
- He studied also with the leading great senior Scholar Sheikh Muhammed al-Ameen Shanqiti the author of the great Tafsir Adwa-ul-Bayan
- 1374H: Returned to Unaizah, began teaching at the Higher Institue newly formed there
- 1374H: Upon graduating & returning from Riyad, continued learning with the great Scholar Sheikh Saadi again while also teaching at the institue of higher learning
- 1376H: Sh. Saadi passed away, rahimahullah
- 1376H: Upon death of the great Sh Saadi, at age 29 years only Sh Ibn Utheimin took his place of his teacher Sh Saadi at the Central Masjid (Masjid Jami) of Unaizah as Imam & Teacher
- As students increased, he moved teaching from the Library to main section of the Masjid
- In some years 500 students or more from around the world attended Sh Ibn Utheimin's classes at Masjid Jami in Unaizah
- 1398H: Moved to the new Faculty of Shariah & Usuluddeen in Qasseem
- 1402H: Began teaching in Makkah in al-Masjid-ul-Haram that is by the Kabah. He would teach when visiting each year in last 10 days of Ramadan, in Hajj season and in other holiday periods
- 1407H: Sh Ibn Utheimin was included in the Big Scholars (كبار العلماء)
- He remained in that position as a leading great scholar and as teacher in Masjid Haram in Makkah till his death
- He authored over 40 books of Islam still taught around the world long after his death
- Among many works he did, he would answer questions of people from everywhere via regular national Radio program called (نور على الدرب)
- Moreover, people from high positions from around the world including national/regional leaders would come to the Sheikh's Masjid or house to ask his fatwa or advice on most difficult and complex of matters
- Also had a monthly general gathering at his Masjid attended by hundreds of people, the audio recording and transcripts of which are still read till this day around the world
- Death 1421H (15 Shawwal), ie. 10 January 2001 CE, the Sheikh died from Cancer of Liver and Lungs, just a few days after doing his annual classes from Masjid Haram in Makkah during Ramadan while lying in bed due to last stages of his illness!
- Thousands of Muslims from various cities prayed his funeral prayer performed in al-Masjid-ul-Haram & was then buried near the other of the greatest Scholars of the time, Sh Ibn Baz
- His audio recordings of classes on many subjects of Islamic Scholarly Learning are widely available and heard and their transcripts read till this day.
